Curt Bowman
Since the encouragement of Eleanor Hughes in 1980, Curt Bowman has
been developing both representational and non-objective forms of
painting. His work is an alternative expression of design work that
has been focused in most part on museum exhibitions for the past
27 years. Curt has long been experimenting with photography including
teaching photography on graduate school fellowship at East Carolina
University.
His paintings and artwork have been shown in Washington DC, southern
Maryland, Santa Fe, Taos, NYC, and St. Augustine. Past work resides
in numerous collections around the US.
Artist’s Statement
“Painting and photography offer a poetic medium that consistently
provokes engagement by the artist… and reflects a need to
achieve balance and harmony while experimenting with plastic forms
and natural rules.”
